Hello there! I am a dedicated, compassionate, bilingual Mexican-American woman who is proudly from Gonzales, California. My Mother immigrated from Mexico in the early 1980s and found work in agriculture and followed the “corrida” all the way to Yuma, AZ, where she then met my Father.
With a strong belief in giving back to the community that raised me, I pursued a path of education and service. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Collaborative Health and Human Services with a concentration in Public Administration and then went on to achieve my Master’s degree in Social Work at California State University Monterey Bay. I knew furthering my education was important so that I could better equip myself with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a positive impact here at home. I have been a Certified Sexual Assault Counselor for the past seven years, an Advocate for Commercially Sexually Exploited Children for the last six years, and have volunteered with our local rape crisis center for over nine years. Supporting survivors and their significant others of sexual violence in Monterey County is a tremendous privilege and I strive to bring awareness to this important cause.
